About

The Workshop

Now celebrating its 10th year, (re)CYCLE Limburg 10 marks a moment of reflection and renewal— honoring its past while expanding into a platform for creative education, public engagement, and regional collaboration.

Story Of Origin

Limburg, 2016

(re)CYCLE Limburg began in 2016 as a bold experiment at Zuyd University of Applied Sciences. What started as a small student initiative in the Architecture and Urban Design studio quickly grew into something larger. A handful of students, frustrated by the lack of real-world engagement in traditional design education, decided to take their learning to the streets—literally.

Our goals & Ambitions

Learn about our mission and ambitions

Educational mission

(re)CYCLE Limburg connects education and research through real urban challenges. Each edition works with municipalities, residents, and partners to address questions emerging from SURD’s research, driving transformation from neighbourhood scale to regional impact.

Future ambition

We aim to expand into more disciplines, cities, and research themes, growing (re)CYCLE Limburg into a platform where students gain agency over urban transformation challenges.
